Q. What are your products or services and how would they help me?
A. We analyze your health history, perform a physical examination, assimilate our findings, order laboratory tests such as blood, urine, hair, and stool using medical and specialty laboratories. This results in a prescription of vitamins, amino acids, minerals, essential fatty acids, and dietary recommendations as to how and when to take the supplements.
Additionally, for your convenience, we stock and sell supplements commonly used in our programs. Most items are priced at from up to 25% off manufacturer suggested retail. We can ship items to you if it is not convenient to come by the clinic.
Q. How is Wyndgate Health different than other similar practices?
A. We provide case management services for each client. Wyndgate Health practitioners have trained many physicians, nurse practioners and physician assistants in our methods. We have over ten years of experience including work at The Pfeiffer Treatment Center where over 20,000 patients have been seen.
Q. If I get tested and start taking the supplements, when will I feel better?
A. Response times can vary fairly widely from patient to patient depending on tolerance to the supplements, compliance taking the supplements as prescribed and the severity of the condition being treated. Most patients experience some benefit several within weeks, some in a few months and some may be up to a year. Keeping in touch with our case manager through regular consultations helps improve outcomes.
Q. I see you sell supplements. Why should I buy the supplements from Wyndgate?
A. Our supplements are of high quality, are tested for purity and potency and are manufactured under strict Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines. In addition, they are affordable. Each item sold at Wyndgate Health are discounted from up to 25%.
Q. What can I expect the monthly cost of my supplements to be?
A. Ranges we see are from $75 to $150 per month. Everyone’s program is individualized so costs will vary.
Q. Will my insurance pay for the cost of the office visits? Case management consultations? Supplements?
A. Most private health insurance plans pay “out of network” rates for certified nurse practitioner. Medicare, Medicaid, medical assistance programs and TRICARE cannot be billed, nor will they reimburse you for our services or supplement programs. If you are covered under any of these programs you will be required to sign a document acknowledging and agreeing that you will not submit bills from Wyndgate Health to these insurance plans as it is against federal and state laws. Most health insurance plans will not reimburse you for case manager consultations or supplements. However, you may apply to your plan’s Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) account when supplements are prescribed by a healthcare provider.
Q. What does it mean to “compound” my supplement program? Why would I want compounding?
A. Professional pharmacists, in clean bench areas, combine the raw supplements in the exact potency and quantity prescribed. Capsules are then filled with the individualized raw supplement compound, bottled, labeled and shipped to your home. Compounding is popular with clients who may not be compliant in swallowing the number of individual capsules that are required by some programs, or to simply reduced number of capsules as a convenience.
Q. How long are the visits?
A. Your initial new client appointment will last for 1 hour. Results Consultations required thereafter will last from 30 to 60 min. other visits will likewise vary in duration driven by your needs.
Q. Will Wyndgate Health bill my medical insurance?
A. In an effort to better manage our costs, Wyndgate Health does not bill insurance of any kind. However, you may submit claims to your insurance company. Your professional fee receipts will include diagnosis and professional service codes that the insurance company, in part, will use when determining whether or not they will reimburse you.
Q. Will Wyndgate Health manage my medications prescribed by my doctor?
A. Wyndgate Health is not a primary care practice and will not manage any medication prescribed by other healthcare practitioners. Please see your practitioner if you have questions or concerns about your medications.
Q. What is the basic cost of Wyndgate Health appointments?
A. Wyndgate Health prides itself in designing and delivering a high quality, less expensive service. Initial and Annual Assessments are $250. Interim consultations start at $50 and will vary based on the length of the consultation.
Q. Why does Wyndgate Health use a “case management” approach in its practice?
A. Case management is another key aspect of the Wyndgate Health operating plan. We have a registered nurse managing the routine follow up and communication with our clients. Our clients tell us that they appreciate the personalized care and report better outcomes using this approach.
Q. I’m a little uncomfortable not being seen by an MD. Tell me why Wyndgate Health does not do so.
A. Typically, medical doctors, physician’s assistants and nurse practitioners are not trained in the orthomolecular and functional medicine techniques. Physicians seeking this training commonly obtain it at specialized professional organizations and seminars. As a matter of fact, our case management nurse has trained four medical doctors, four nurse practitioners and one physician assistant in these therapies.
Q. What types of medical professionals care for patients at Wyndgate Health?
A. Certified Physician Assistants (PA-C), Certified Nurse Practioners (CNP), who have completed advanced training from the Institute of Functional Medicine and ARI (DAN!) clinician training. Each CNP is also required to have a collaborating physician.
